I have been reading Charlie's 'old' site and found my way here ~ I am inspired by everybody here ~ I have just watched Charlie's you tube videos and sat and cried my eyes out whilst watching. I can't begin to say how down I am, and how desperate I am to lose weight. I would be here all day if I tried to say everything that is bubbling inside me. I need to lose more than 10 stone ~ I can't even think past that at the moment. I will visit here every day I can, and hope for inspiration. My first step today ~ I am going to order a pedometer on line, and start walking, when I can, to pick my daughter up from school. I have tried so many times to do it before, maybe this is the time it will really work. I sit here looking at the sun shining in my garden, and hope against hope that this will be the summer when I will really truly begin to enjoy life again. Here's to new beginnings

welcome to the group .
I know how you feel , but you can do it !!
It has helped me having like minded people on here to talk to , the encouragement , support and advice has been great for me.
I would suggest that you dont look at is as 10 stone to loose . every pound closer to loosing a stone is a fantastic feeling , so dont look at the total right now just head towards loosing 1 stone at a time.
we are all here , doing it together and helping eachother along this journey that we are all on.
good luck xxxxxx

Hi Kentishmaid,
sorry to hear you are so down. I have been visiting this site for 4 weeks and have so far lost 1 stone. Somehow having people to chat to really does help to keep you motivated. we are all in it together. Seeing how much Charlie lost really goes to show that it can be done. Good luck and hope it will be successful for you.

hi steph, hi em thanks for your kind words ~ i'm fine, really i am, i'm just emotional about this weight loss business! i've done it before ~ when i got married i lost a lot of weight ~ i know the answers ~ that was with weight watchers and going to the gym! trouble is, three kids later, its hard to find the time for such 'structured' activities ~ i have to learn to fit stuff in with the family as i'm sure you both understand. its so great to talk to you both though ~ i am going to keep checking here all the time to give me inspiration! sounds like you are both doing great though! good for you! i want this to be the one summer where i don't want to wear long skirts and long sleeves! my plan ~ to go to boots today and weigh myself and to start walking and watching my fat intake. one step at a time. nice to meet you both how are you losing weight by the way ~ anything specific?

Hi Kentishmaid.
I have cut out all junk but i do have low fat treats so i dont feel im missing out. Also i have been using a smaller dinner plate. I have been walking most days...weather permitting. To be honest it hasnt been as hard as i thought. This group really does help keep you motivated. Good luck and keep in touch

congratulations Em .. that is fantastic hun .. you must be so proud !! ( im proud of you , I feel like I know you )
Im not following a specific diet , i do refer to the weight watchers eating out guide ( a friend gave it to me ) but thats all , when I am home my main meal is half veg or salad , made up with a small amount of what hubby is eating.
I love my curry , roasts etc. so I couldnt start something that I couldnt maintain , I cant cook lovely dinners for everybody esle and then watch , so my plate is half full of veg or salad before I put a small amount of what they eat on. and I have to say , curry rice and salad is lovey .. strange combination but I enjoy it ..lol
I do know what you mean about the kids .. I have 3 of my own but I am also a registered childminder so I have 7 kids all day , and Ive managed to find time to do a 30 min rosemary conoly DVD every day and in the evening I try to do a few sit ups and other little bits. Thats my hour but it is paying off.
If I can do it anybody can !!
we are all here for you , its ok to be down some days and others you will be up and we might need cheering up , thats why we need eachother.

thanks steph x x i'm so pleased to be speaking to you both ~ its so much easier when you have someone going through it at the same time hey ~ trouble is, my husband is really supportive, but its hard for him, he's seen me start it (a diet or exercise programme etc) so many times ~ bless him ~ and he's skinny as a rake and eats like a horse (same as my kids!) and curry sauce, rice and salad? whatever works hey!! right, now i really am going ~ speak to you girls soon. thanks for cheering me up already ~ and here's to the start of something great!! x x x x x x

I think about 11 stone. When i lost weight before i got down to 11 and a half and that was ok but i would have liked to have lost that extra half a stone. I was a size 12 top and 14 bottom then.
